| i don't think the lube is supposed to leak through the gun, maybe you're putting too much in for every fill and it's carrying some propane through the breach and leaking onto your hand? try using less silicon, i've heard you only need to lube it up every 4-5 fills, not entirely sure though.
and if we figure out why it's happening we can figure out how to counteract it, or just stop causing it and let it air out.

| First off if oil is leaking out of the gun then your using too much.
Secondly. Dragonhawk. WTF are you talking about. It gets on you and doesnt come off? What doesnt come off? What is getting on you? None of this stuff should be touching you or your clothes. So what are you doing with it? Did you get inspired by an Axe commercial and go double pits to chesty on it? I mean how could you possibly screw this up. Rainman used propane and he was a ritard

| it's not for no reason, it's because we as a team ask brazzy the same question 10 times, and he's answered it 10 times, idk about you but i get annoyed when people ask me the same question over and over when they could've been paying attention the first time...

| True, but its not just that. Some of it is just silly. I mean complaining about the smell of propane? I'm gonna need a Tom Jackson "C'mon man" on that one. Some of it just doesnt make any sense. The whole I'm back to square one cuz I dont like the M14 thing. Well, what dont you like about it? I know that out of the box they shoot excellently. Unless its a lemon (highly unlikely) it should perform better than most AEG's. So it cant be performance. Well maybe its externally. Well I know they are very solid and well built, so it cant be that. Maybe he doesnt like the look of it? Well the M14 is a very popular rifle. He must have seen what it looks like in movies, gun stores, pictures, hell even the honor guard uses them. So it musnt be the look of it. So what is it? Did you some how make that gun smell too? When I started playing I would have loved to have had a knowledgeable person answer some questions for me. Unfortunately we really didnt have that luxury. Everything was sickly expensive and no one knew anything about it. If you bought it and it sucked, you were screwed. Right now you are in the center of the strongest airsoft community in the country. Not sure why you guys dont take advantage of it. If you want to play the game and take it seriously the path is already laid out for you. I cant stress it enough. Go to a game. I guarantee you take that M14 you dont like and you'll see a kid with a JG bar 10 and laugh at him cuz he is going the easiest target you'll see all day. Why be the one to learn the hard way? People have already learned the hard way for you. That would be like reading this website ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090106102011AA1YQ8p ) and then wondering what it would be like to stick your dick in a toaster and trying it out for yourself. It just doesnt make any sense when some other poor dumb bastard already did it. | |

| If your tired of smart ass comments, stop asking dumb ass questions. No one likes the smell of propane it isnt that great, but your the first person to think that their gun smells bad enough that they want to soak it in water and probably destroy it. For that I grant you the vagina of the week award.
C'mon Tstonk I know you think that shits funny.
Gas guns are made of plastic, metal, rubber, and oil. The entire gun functions on the fact that the oil creates seals, and allows moving parts to move freely. Cleaning it with soap or water is not a good idea. Now before you even say it I know what you're thinking: "I'll just regrease it when I'm done cleaning it." Not the case. Establishing the seals necessary for the gun to work are a pain in the balls. When your gun starts leaking you're gonna go ape shit cuz its worthless to you. You will then want me to fix your gun (I'm 1 of about 3 people in New England willing to work on gas guns, and thats being generous). Clean your gun with silicone oil and nothing else until you get a better understand of what you are dealing with.

| zack maybe you should think of it as your new gun smell? =p the box my gun came in had a warning about the motor smelling for a while because it's new, could be something similar to that cause there's no motor but it might be all the grease that it came with or something like that.
and really though, you don't clean a real rifle with soap and water, why would you do it to something that's considerably more fragile?
that and if you don't figure out what's causing the smell then it'll just keep happening until you do figure out what the cause is, solving the problem doesn't help much if you don't know what causes the problem in the first place, you don't kill a snake by cutting off it's tail, you go for the head.
ie. wasting 10 grenades and 400 rounds on a sniper doesn't help if he respawns and you let him get back to the same hard to hit spot.
and for the record, scents don't really stick to metal unless you rub it in or something so idk what you're doing.
